BVLA, also known as Body Vision Los Angeles, is the world’s leading manufacturer of fine body jewelry. They needed a cohesive identity that balanced their values of premium craftsmanship with everyday accessibility. Despite multiple past rebrands, their digital and print presence needed consistency. Over the years, we worked with them on everything from social media templates to a wholesale jewelry portal to event collateral and beyond, forming a lasting partnership and continuous creative collaboration.

I led the development of BVLA’s flexible design system, which would then be applied across their digital assets. This consisted of creating a centralized Figma component library and a suite of roughly fifteen modular social templates.
The work was guided by clear constraints: the BVLA monogram’s placement, readability within Instagram’s grid for large headlines, preserving the clarity of intricate gemstone imagery, and showcasing the faces behind the jewelry. To solve for these, I refined logo positioning, introduced bold text blocks for hierarchy, and cropped imagery strategically for maximum impact.

I was tasked with designing collateral for BVLA’s booth at the annual Las Vegas APP (Association of Professional Piercers) Tradeshow as well as for the company’s 30th anniversary.
The trade show collateral comprised large gemstone banners, a photo booth backdrop showcasing global locations where their piercers are based, poker chips, and more. The goal was to keep the logo front and center, accenting the brand with secondary colors where necessary but keeping the core elevated style.

For the company’s 30 year anniversary, I worked with team members David Funkhouser (art director) and Jared Boyle (senior designer) to design an elegant suite of assets that featured striking gemstone photography, playful integrations of graphic elements, and the company’s monogram and 30 year anniversary logomark.
